Online course organized by the University of Tartu, Institute of Chemistry, Tartu-ESTONIA.
This is a practice-oriented on-line course on validation of analytical methods, specifically using LC/MS as
technique. The course introduces the main concepts and mathematical apparatus of validation, covers the most important method performance parameters and ways of estimating them.
Course volume: 2 ECTS (52 hours).

The student who has successfully passed the course knows

  • the main performance parameters of analytical methods, what they show and which of them are particularly important in different situations;
  • the main mathematical concepts and tools in method validation;
  • the main approaches for evaluation of the performance parameters in the case of LC/MS analysis.

The student who has successfully passed the course is able to

  • decide what data are needed for evaluating the different method performance parameters,
  • understand the meaning of the available data and decide whether the available data are sufficient;
  • select the approach and design the experiments for obtaining suitable data;
  • quantify the relevant performance parameters using the available data and assess whether the obtained values are realistic;
  • assess the fitness of the method for the intended purpose based on the values of the evaluated performance parameters.

The student who has successfully passed the course knows

  • the main concepts related to measurement results and measurement uncertainty, including their application to chemical analysis;
  • the main mathematical concepts and tools for uncertainty estimation; • the main measurement uncertainty sources in chemical analysis;
  • the main approaches for measurement uncertainty estimation.

The student who has successfully passed the course is able to

  • decide what data are needed for uncertainty estimation, understand the meaning of the available data and decide whether the available data are sufficient;
  • select the uncertainty estimation approach suitable for the available data;
  • quantify the uncertainty contributions of the relevant uncertainty sources using the available data;
  • carry out estimation of uncertainty using the main approaches of uncertainty estimation and present the results.

The course presents the main concepts and mathematical apparatus of measurement uncertainty  estimation in chemical analysis and introduces two principal approaches to measurement uncertainty estimation – the ISO GUM modeling approach and the single-lab validation approach as implemented by Nordtest approach. The course contains lectures, practical examples and numerous tests and exercises for self-testing.

Validation of HPLC/UPLC Methodologies

30 Jan 2023.
Online Course given by John C. Fetzer and Certificate issued by by Compliance4All
(www.compliance4all.com) via NetZealous LLC. Product ID: 502968
Course Description
Instrumental liquid chromatography, either as HPLC or UPLC, are common techniques in laboratories that are widely used to determine purity, the impurities, and the degradation products of pharmaceuticals. The focus of most validation work is on the methodology, the standard operating procedure (SOP). But validation of the instrumentation and other associated items of column, solvents, and other reagents and chemicals is also an area of focus in an audit.
For Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or for ISO 17025 compliance, such methods must meet certain requirements. This presentation will cover the key elements to have a compliant method.
Areas Covered in the Session:

  • Instrument validation
  • The pumping system
  • The column
  • The detection system
  • The Data System

Method validation

  • Accuracy
  • Precision and the various measures of precision (repeatability, reproducibility, ruggedness, robustness)
  • Limits of detection and quantitation, linearity
  • Selectivity, interferences, and specificity
  • Sensitivity
  • Solution stability

PM2 Essentials Certification (Project Management Methodology)

27 Oct 2021

This Project Management Methodology Certificate was awarded by the Interoperability Academy via the European Commission.
Brussels - Belgium.

The PM² Essentials Certification is a Level-2 certification and a popular entry point to the world of PM² Certifications. It is designed to confirm candidates’ understanding of key concepts of the PM² Methodology. The candidate who has successfully passed the the certification exam knows aspects on the what, when, who and how the PM² Methodology should be implemented. For candidates to achieve the certification they must demonstrate their understanding of the PM² concepts (in the 5 areas of Governance, Lifecycle, Processes, Artefacts and Mindsets) in an adequate level so that they will be able to work effectively as a member of a project team of a PM² project.
